These are our mature girls. They are 8-9 weeks old. They have no more baby fluff, and they all have their adult voices, except for Betty who still peeps like a chick. When they were smaller, 3-4 weeks old, we only let them run around in the pond area. But they began venturing out into the pond area so we let them run around there. They tore up the raised beds we have. At first they only hung out in the first bed, tearing up the chard. They made a huge indent where they dust bathed and occasionally sun bathed. Then they began venturing out into the 2nd and 3rd beds. They had already trampled what they didn't eat and tore all the lower leaves off the lettuce plants. We had to build a small fence of sticks around our green beans because they took a liking to those. They love the chives, they trample and devour them. Every time I pick them up after they go through the chives, they smell like onions. They like to rest in the shade of the kale and when it is time for bed and I have to round them up and bring them inside, they like to stay in the first bed, which is close to the couch so it takes 10 minutes to catch them.
