2nd week-June 5, 2013
This is where they used to live. We got them being about two weeks old and they lived in a much smaller box, but after two days we realized they were crowded. So we moved them here. But we soon noticed this too was too small for them. When we took off the wire top, they'd poke their heads an inch or two above the edge of the box. We had already bought the coop pre-built, but we had to modify a few things. The guy used the wrong wire, and he built four nesting boxes. So we tore out the whole inside, and instead of three floors, we made it two so during hot days the chicks could go under the coop in the shade. We would put their wet food and a big water there. Their dry food and another water were up in the coop. We made our own ramp, although since they are still small, they slide in between bumps in the ramp. Their first day in the coop was supposed to be June 5, but we put it off one day, and the next night, their first night in the coop, there was an absolutely huge thunderstorm. We were hoping they'd have good memories of the coop. They didn't. Buffy acted all mopey and sad and the other two ignored us. They blamed us for that incident.
